I am looking for some advice before I invest. I have a chance to pick up a Johnson 150HP it is, I believe a 1984, completely rebuilt. How dependable is it compared to the Johnson 100HP?

I think the feedback you will get will be positive for both motors. You can check the history of problems/performance of both of those motors by going to the red search at the top of the page.

Ditto, I agree with SoLittle. The only item I can think of you might check on is see that the water pump has been replaced with the rebuild.

hello<br /> depends on the rebuild. there are some very shady and iffy ebuilder in our area buddy:(. some do it right and the worst I saw was a repaint on the power head it is sad to say. can ya post who did the rebuild ?<br />I wont badmouth anyone but I can tell you if I have heard about them and if it was good. and I can recommend some places in the big E city that can check it out for you.<br /> Good luck and keep posting
