Hi everyone.

I have a 1988 OMC Seadrive on a Larson 226 (1989 model.)

Currently, the boat is equipped with a "single lever" shift/throttle. My preference (by a LONG way) would be a seperate transmission and throttle controls.

How available are "similar footprint" replacements?

How expensive would one be? Finally, will I need to replace the throttle/transmission cables, or will they be a "one-for-one" replacement?

Finally, do any of these have a "tilt/trim" switch integrated?

You recommendations are appreciated!

Ken

Re: Any Recommendations? OEM Shift Box

hello
you can get a seperate throttle/shift box but none that use the factory omc cables. none that I have seen have trim on the handle. I reccomend you change. some tech like me really needs the money for the gear case repairs its going to create.after 20 some odd years of doing this I have found that universal controls universally dont work well. I see many gear cases torn up each year by the misadjustment and misuse of them. stick with a factory single lever and life is good.
good luck and keep posting
