1985 Evinrude 150hp on a Ranger. I was relplacing some fuel lines and I accidently moved some of the adjustment screws for the shifter and the throttle. After I realized that I still had a slow leak in the fuel line still I thought that I would go ahead and start it up to make sure that I already had everything else hooked up right. That was when I noticed that the shifter would not go into reverse (engine not running) and the butterflies would not completely close when in neutral. I was told that it would close when the electric choke was engaged. Guess you can tell I'm a newbee huh?! Here's the info on the motor M# E150TLCD S# Jo421946. How do I get everything shifting correctly again. I definetly plan on buying a model specific manual. HELP!!!

Sounds to me that you are looking at the choke butterflys. Have someone turn the prop while shifting into reverse. Engine not running of course.
