Howdy I was wondering if the temp guage for the motor is just a regular one you can buy at an auto parts store?Thanks for your time.

I believe that engine use's a red warning light.

How do i check if the red warning light is working properly?

The temerature sensors are mounted in the cylinder heads, They have a knife connector with a rubber sleeve. With the key on, slide the sleeve back, and touch connector to ground. The light should come on.
