Most Efficent RPM's on Outboard

Just wondering at what RPM the outboard runs most efficently. My boat planes off around 3000, and WOT is 5200. Just trying to find out what will the best gas milage be on my boat. Thanks in advance!<br /><br />(oh its a 1986 Evinrude V6-150.)

I'd say 3700-4000 rpm.

best Cruise economy is around 3200-3500 RPM.

But it depends somewhat the type of boat and what outboard (under- normal- or overpowered) and how mucg load on boat (persons, cargo).
