Johnson 50hp- 1995 model. When idling, cruising, WOT, whatever, the voltmeter will jump for a split second ( down) and then return to normal. It is literally a jump, like you flicked a switch for a split second. I can count to exactly 8 when it does it and it will do it again. Like clockwork. System seems to be charging now but I have not put a meter to it. Sound like a regulator/rectifier going bad?

UFM82

Since its like clockwork I would suspect the alarm system. Does your alarm horn work?

ufm 82, disconnect all your accessories, like your radio, depth finder, etc etc. and see if the drop still occurs. nevjb
