Default Evinrude 200HP Blown engine

I have a 1998-99 200 HP. I bought the boat used last summer and have only put about 10 hours on the motor. The motor has less than 200 hours, checked by service shop when I had to replace computer after first time out. I was out the other day and thre a rod through the case. Marine repai said motor unrepairable. It is out of warranty. Are there any options dealing with Bombardier and/or is motor able to be rebuilt?

barndoor,Forget Bombardier assisting. Three strikes against you.1. They didn't build it.2. That engine is 5-6 years old.3. You bought it used. The engine cannot be rebuilt because the block has a hole in it. You will need to find a reman. engine. There are plenty of choices available, right here on iboats.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck but welcome anyway. Tell us more about "replacing" the computer. "Replacements" are extremly hard to come by. Especially new. Was yours sent out and reprogrammed? Were the updates installed? The trick is to determine what caused the (most likely) piston to stick and then the rod broke or pulled out of the wrist pin boss. Replacement powerheads are available. But if your electronics are what caused the problem, you will need to get that fixed. If you are interested, let us know and we can recommend rebuilders who specialize in DI motors.Good luck!
