Ok folks, winter is sneaking up on us in a hurry. what is recommened for winterizing my boat and motor, I know this is a motor forum but any info would be greatly appreciated.
#1 I use the boat till we get ice, what should I do after every use to help my motor, keep in mind many days are below freezing, right now I pull the fuel line and let it run out after every trip(during the colder months only).
#2 After we get ice out, what should I do for final storage, to make sure this thing will run just as good as it did the yr before, again boat is stored inside an uninsulated garage.

Re: Winterization

heyttown
right now I would start running a fuel stabilizer with the fuel. One such as Stabil is fine. That way you have the fuel in the carbs and tank ready to store. I would not run the lines and carbs dry, as it is not good for lubricating the engine when it starves for fuel and oil. It will be fine as long as you have the stabilizer in there. Other than that, follow the links below for more info.

web page

web page 2

web page 3
