I just bought a 1978 15 hp Evinrude (#15855) and it has the long shaft. I need to shorten it back to standard shaft. I've located a drive shaft and shift rod. Do I just cut off 5" from the copper water tube that is hanging down? I was going to use a dremmel with a disc and then deburr it. Does this sound right?
