77 seahorse pull rope won't return

Pull rope broke. Refed old line - lost about three inches of rope. Rehooked everything up didnt really rechange much just fed myself enough rope to refeed to pull handle but now it won't spring return after pull? Have to rewind by hand. 10EL77A. Help please...<br />jf...

Either you broke the spring when it snapped back..or you did not preload the rewind.<br /><br />Preload is done this way.<br /><br />Pull a few turns out of the rope. Hold the rewind still and manually wrap the rope around the spool, or hub assembly.<br /><br />TMD
