i need help removing lower unit on my evinrude, i have removed the outer bolts now what do i remove? there is something i am missing. i am trying to change my water pump. thanks for the hlpe

Shift rod under the lower carb area needs to be disconnected.Also insure that you have removed ALL of the bolts from lower unit.If the horzontal joint has already dropped some ,you'll need to install a few of the bolts and draw the lower unit back up into place before disconnecting the shift rod.A sevice manual is highly advisable as a guide and reference tool.

There's seven bolts to remove counting the one that attaches the steering trim tab.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
