Hi Guys<br />Where would i find the serial number on my 1979 Evinrude 70 hp 3 cylinder motor, any help would be really appreciated.<br /><br />Thanx<br /><br />Eddy :D

The serial number should be found on one of the transom brackets on a small silver tag. Transom brackets hold the engine onto the boat.<br /><br />TMD

If youre trying to order parts, the E/J's go by model number.

Also, look on the welsh plug on the powerhead(Look like a concaved freeze plug. Should begin with 70 something..
