I'm getting ready to rebuild my carb, replace thermostat and water pump impeller. Just preventative at this point, although I think the idle circuit in the carb may be a bit dirty.

So, can I just go to a marine shop that deals in evinrude and order carb kit, thermo, impeller kit by the year and model of my engine? Or do I need to remove the parts and take them down?

The reason I ask is my manual seems a bit vague about some of these things (carbs in particular).

I used to dealing with motorcycles/small engines where model# is all you need.. hopefully that's all I need for this too.

Yes, just take your Model number in there and they will set you up.

Thanks, it's always nicer to have the parts on hand...
