DC generator install

I got a DC generator for my evinrude, but no drivebelt. Is the generator driven by a longer version of the magneto belt? In any case, there doesn't seem to be room for two belts under the flywheel, so I must assume this is so.

The next question, then, is where can I get the correct belt? It's a '63 75hp SpeediFour, if it matteres. Model #75353

Thanks!

Re: DC generator install

Rick,
I have no idea about the 75hp but I know the 35 and 40's used a belt on top of the flywheel. Unfortunitely not all the flywheels had the pulley installed on them. I am sure someone here will know the correct answer for the 75hp tho.

I don't know about your Rude, but Dad's '61 V4 75 hp (model V4A-13) Johnson doesn't have a generator (though it has the mounting bracket) but instead has an alternator under the flywheel (integral). Don't you have alternator coils under yours? The mag belt you mention is a distributor belt (battery, coil and points ignition) on this one.
