My 1984 115 evin decided not to idle last week.Ran great at4-5000 and still does.I changed water sep and new plugs and no change.I turned up the idle and it seemed fine for a week and now with the idle turned up it again wont idle.It stalls from low idle and almost coughs.again it runs great if I can keep the idle up with the throttle.Any ideas???I am no mechanic but I can do some of the basics. Thanks Charlie

Have you disassembled and cleaned the carbs?

I am not too sure how to take off carbs,as I stated i am not a mechanic.This may sound stupid but is it easy to do??? charlie

Crazy horse, the carbs on this motor are so simple to rebuild, you'll wonder why you haven't done it in the past. Pick up two kits ( for about 12 bucks apiece) and a small can of decarbonizer and clean them up at home.Easy job.

Thanks guys ,all of the sudden I feel like I may be able to do it.Is this something I should plan for a winter project or can I knock it off in a day ?? Charlie
