Hi guys,This is my first posting. Great information site. I just rebuilt my gear case on my 85 120hp, sn e120tlco. My shop manual skips from 110 hp to 150 hp so I do not have a measurement for the shift linkage. The guy at the local shop told me to use the measurement for the 110 hp which is 21 27/32 +/- 1/32 in my service manual. I see in the notes here where the measurement should be set to 21 15/16 for a 120 looper. I'm not sure if my unit is a looper however it does have a large carb cover. Now I'm confused. I've searched everywhere for the correct answer. Can someone help??ThanksTN Fisher
according to your model # you have 1985 120 90degree loop V (looper).the correct shift rod height is - 20in shaft-- 21 15/16 (+/- 1/32)get away from that generic manual & get an omc with parts manual.you can find them on ebay pretty cheap.good luck
