Hello all!
am new on this BB and new to the world of boating!
Ihave a evnirude 70hp vro outboard that i have just brought with a boat.
engine run fine when buying.
Got it into the water and it would idle but would die under load.Stripped carbs and found main jets blocked, cleaned and tried again.Run well for 10-20 min.
Next trip out would run for 5 min then stop.would not idle or start.
Striiped carbs and found clear jelly blocking jets.Cleaned carbs and worked well for 10 min then same problem!
What is this clera jelly and how do i get rid of it? do i need to flush out the whole fuel system?
Cheers for any help :D

Hi surfing...welcome to the forum.

Not sure what the goo is. Had the engine set for a long time before you bought it?

Flush out the system including the fuel tank and see if that helps. Also make sure the VRO alarms are working. Your set up should have two...one for low reservoir level (1/2 sec. beep ever 20sec.) and one for no oil flow which is an urgent 1/2 sec every 1/2 sec beep. Over heat is a steady tone.

Keep us posted. Thanks.
