spun hub means new prop??

I have learned that my 1960's 40hp Johnson outboard has a "spun hub". My local repair shop said that in order to fix it I need to get a new prop, which he sells for $80. Is this right, do I need a new prop to fix my problem?

i would try another place they can usually get rehubed
