Hi all,

Just found you lot, and was wondering if you can tell me what I've just bought! - it's an old (70's?) Evinrude outboard V-4 with a white curved top cover. Engine number: 65053B It is attached to a Bry Owen (when Owens went bust the UK dealer bought the moulds and re-named the boats) 15' late 60's speedboat. I would like to keep an engine on the boat that is in keeping with age but so far have found only one engineer willing to have a look due to spares being non available over here in UK. But if anyone can help me with some info it would help. I also need to repaint it and need info on colours and graphics (very badly hand painted replica graphics)

Many thanks

Mark

Hi speedymark!
If 65053 actually is 65853 then this is what you have:
65853 Evinrude 1968
65 hp @ 5000 rpm
70.7 cu.in. = 1158.6 ccm V-4
225 - 230 lbs. = 102 - 104.3Kg
Picture

Bear,

Will check number tonight. But hey, that's my engine on a Houseboat?! - great pic though, have you any more info or pics you could send me? or tell me where to get manuals, brochures etc? Mine is pretty much the shape your pic shows but with two carb bulges on top (can't quite see in the pic)

Cheers
