That's a real judgement call for your engine. I've got a RX-10 outboard (Johnson version of yours), a RX-11 (for parts), and a RX-12 service manual ('64, 50:1 ratio). I'll be damned if I can find a significant difference between the engines. All the manufacturing tolerances are the same, etc, but my ('64 OEM OMC) manual has a note stating

"Mixture for 1963 motors after break in period should be the same as used during break in period - 1 quart of oil to 6 gallons of gasoline."

Further complicating things is that maddening post by Joe Reeves where he mentions a lost bulletin allowing old engines to run 50:1.

Then again, a little extra oil never hurt an engine...
