Default 35 hp Evinrude spark plug

Hi there,I have replaced the spark plug with a champion L77JC4 (the old plug was L77J4). Now the engine won't start. Is is because the L77JC4 is not the right plug for this engine? Thanks a lot

That engine calls for QL77JC4 gapped at .030".See your first post for my 2 cents on your starting issue.

Thank you very much. Since I do not have spark plug gauge, is there other way to set up the gap correctly? Thanks again,
