i have a 40 hp evinrude vro model no e40elco serial no g104996 dont know year. i put a new prop on same diameter same pitch 11-3/4x17.the old prop got bent on some rocks. now when i put more than 2 peaple on the boat it wont go faster than 6 knots this dident happen with the old prop. the rpms rev up but dont go.take one person off it will go 26 knots. what can be the problem

Did you guy a repaired prop or a brand new prop?<br /><br />If its been repaired..it might have been reworked to a different pitch than what was original.<br /><br />TMD

Your new prop has a bad hub. Take it back.

Fenn....listen to JB....your new prop got a spun hub. It can happen on occasion.
