I've disassembled the carbs on my 1994 Johnson 88spl for cleaning. Using omc p/n 439076 carb kit to reassemble carbs after cleaning.

The question I have is that there seem to be an awful lot of parts in the kit not used(o-ring/gaskets and some plastic fittings). I'm using the clymer manual for direction and don't see anywhere these parts are called for. No direction came with the carb kits.

Am I missing something that I should be replacing or is this carb kit used for a lot of different carbs and has a bunch of parts I don't need? Please help, it's hard for me to have peace of mind when I have parts left over. :)

Relax. That kit for your carburetor is the same kit for probably a half dozen different carburetors. You'll have parts left over. Just be sure you replaced everything you took out.

c/6

Hooty
