I own an evinrude 18 hp between yrs 57 and 73. My reverse seems to be gone on it. Is it my shear pin or linkage or what. Everytime I put it into reverse prop moves but will not go into revrse. Very frustrating. will not move bacwards. HELP :mad: :mad:

Hi, Jaltima.<br /><br />Give us the model number. From that we can tell what year your engine is. Then when you know the year, get a manual or find one in the library.<br /><br />Your shift linkage probably needs adjusting. DONT try it without a manual.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

I will get my serial # thank you. I have a manual but father in-law has it. Never thought it be that. I will read and get # thank you. ;)
