I just got a Rapair Spark gap tester and I have a couple of questions. 1987 225 Johnson
1) If I use a remote starter trigger do I have to turn the ignition on to get a spark?
2) Should I be able to see the spark in the tester during daylight?
3) Should I test all 6 cylinders at once or one at a time?
Thanks
Reddog

Re: Spark gap tester

Hey Reddog23,
Here's the way I use mine.

1. Remove all sparkplugs
2. Connect tester to all six plug wires.
3. Turn switch "on".
4. Spin starter.

I'm not familiar with Rapair's spark tester. Mine is a Steven's and it just an open-air, adjustable gap tester and is hard to see in bright sun light but you can see it in a shaded area.

Hope this helps ya.

c/6

Hooty
