I have a '76 7.5 evinrude and i was woundering if there is any way to mount an elec stater on it.
I also have a few problems with it. If i run it for about 15 or 20 mins and shut it down it takes like 30 or 35 pulls to get it started again. I am making sure the throttle is in the right spot and after 10 or 15 pulls i am pumping the ball up. If i take the plugs out and clean them and put a little bit of gas on them then pour some in the cylinder after 5 pulls it starts. If i dont run it for too long it startes right up 4 pulls, or if it sits for awhile. If you could help that would be great. Thanks

Re: '76 7.5 evinrude

well with your first question i have never seen an electric starter setup for 1 of them.
but if you fix the starting problem you might not want to do all that.
first i would decarb the engine (it worked wonders on my 9.5)i also had a starting problem after i decarbed i changed every fuel line in the engine.sounds like you might be sucking air.you should not have to pump the ball after you pull it.check your fuel pump also.but i would start with the easy stuff.decarb and change fuel lines.
