1959 Johnson 75 hp motor

We seem to be leaking oil out of those tiny holes on either side of the oil fill screw. Is this normal?<br />If not, how do we correct this?? At first I thought it was something that happened only when I tilted the motor up for transport. Now I realize that we have a small amount of oil (milky) coming out of these holes all the time. If it was a car, I'd panic. Help me understand. Thank you!

I wish i could help you on this but im sure someone else maybe able to help you more than i can, You are talking about the lower unit fill screws? My only experience with milky oil was internally on a lower unit where water was getting in through one of the seals and mixing with the oil internally then when it was parked in the driveway it would leak out milky oil by the propeller area. I was told this is very bad and to repair the seals.<br /><br />Hope everything works out and someone else can shed more light on your particular model engine.

Thank you for your help, Paedbo. We don't speak boat very fluently, so if you mean the lower unit being the upper fill screw and not the lower drain screw, then Yes, it is the lower unit and my truck mechanic who seems to be able to fix anything, also said it was some seals.

That is OK and normal. It's an accumulation of unburnt (again normal) fuels and oils from the fuel mix that collectcs in the exhaust housing. Those little relief holes are there to drain fluids from that cavity.
