no tell-tale, but will sometimes see a spray or mist of water coming from the two holes on the back of the leg under the powerhead (otherwise, just some exhaust). There is a bypass valve that sometimes directs water out of these ports.


With the motor at operating temperature, you should be able to hold your fingers or the side of your hand on the top of the heads for a few seconds without burning yourself -- indicates that cooling water is properly flowing through the water jackets.
