What year/HP is this mid 80's Johnson outboard, number off the engine frost plug is C8181356, ant help would be appreciated, Thank-you

We need the model number.<br />Like this: J70TLCOA<br />(If it is a Johnson, 70 hp, Trim & Tilt - Electric Start, 20" shaft and 1985 model.)

I am trying to get the service manual for this motor. A mechanic at the marina said this number (c8181356) (on the engine block) would be a model #, as the one on the outside of the motor is missing.

Like Bear said, we need a model number to determine year on OMC products.
