I recently acuired a 40hp Johnson "Super Quiet" motor. 40ESL 70A SN J3298726. Ran good all last fall. Until last month it had jumped out of gear wide open, ouch. Took it out again yesterday and can't keep it in gear. It doesn't seem to bother in reverse. It has 80/90 in the gear case is that the correct lube? I am asuming the problem is electrical but not shure where, and also unshure of the year of my motor.
