Default Water Presure Gauge --1988 Evinrude 120hp

I would like to connect a water presure gauge to my engine but I am not sure how to go about it. Is all the needed information included with the gauge? Thanks, HIII

hw,It usually is. However, it is easy.1. You will run a tube from the guage to the rear of the engine.2. Under the cowl, you will splice in (with a tee fitting) in the line that goes from the block drain, to the telltale water outlet. You know, the stream of water that exits the rear of the engine.

not stepping on any toes!-if you have the 1988 model loopvee motor, than you should have the water control valve on the throttle lever/arm.-that hose coming off the bottom starboard side of the exhaust adapter plate- going to the bottom of the water control valve is where you want to connect the 'T'.-that is part of the incoming water supply to the motor.which would give you a more accurate reading, than the out going at the telltale.-hope that helps

Let me see if I am following yall. I see a hose leading to the pee hole. It has a Y type connection then a smaller hose running uptowared to the top of the engine. There is also one line coming out of the starboard side of the engine at the bottom of the block and cowling that is near these other two lines. Is this where you say to connect a fitting like maybe a T or Y and run the hose from there to the back of the gauge. My manual says CC Loop V , I am not sure what that means.

on starboard side you have a black elbow fitting coming off the adapter housing, if you still have the water control valve- that hose should run to the throttle arm.that is the hose you want to T into. it is an incoming water supply.

Ok, yes I see the black plastic elbow. It seems like a awfull small hose to splice into , I mean I guess there must be a lot of presure in it. Thanks, I have a manual with a picture of the hose but I guess I should pull the boat to the shop to make sure I am cutting into the right hose unless I can talk you into emailing me so I can send a picture to make sure I have the right hose before cutting. If you dont feel comfortable doing that, I understand. If anyone that knows for sure will email me I would like to send a pic to make sure I am in the right place. I bought the gauge already. Thanks, hw3tnt@nc.rr.com
