I have a 1971 100 Horse 2-stroke Johnson, just bought it, it's has no spark coming out of one bank, right side fires well, the left side is dead. I have an excellent spark coming out of the coil and going into the stator, but only one side coming out, engine has a new spark amplifier as well. Does this sound like a stator, or could something else be the culprit?
Thanks in advance for all replies.

It isn't the stator probably that i'm referring too, but I'm not at all familiar with marine 2-stroke engines, but the coil wire does go to the module underneath the flywheel. What are the tests that I can do for this module as I have a good Fluke meter. Thanks

Manuals are pretty easy to get and will give you all the info your looking for. Got on for my V4 115 for $15 at the dealer, used, but hardly.

Or look at the bottom left of this page under "Repair Manuals"

Good Luck :)
