Year and value of old Evinrude

I have an old Evinrude motor that belonged to my father. The ser.# is 4298-00916. Can anyone tell me the year it was built and other specs on the motor and it's potential resale value. It's in very good shape and runs well.

Hello.<br />It is a 1939 2 horse.<br />I have no idea about the value.

It's probably only worth what someone will pay for it. There's lots of those little guys out there, relatively few people collecting them. It's small - hang onto it or pass it along to a son/daughter/neice/nephew with an aptitude towards things mechanical...<br />- Scott
