Fuel tanks and oil reservoir are topped off. Plugs are in good shape. Boat hasn't been run in about one year.

Engine starts, idles fine. Two to three minutes of "no problem" idle and then warning tone starts and sounds about every five seconds. Kill engine, immediately restart, no tones but the aforedescribed cycle starts over if the engine is left running.

Lean on it to get on plane, engine runs and sounds okay, reaches maybe 3-3500rpm - but not enough power to plane out. Before backing off throttle, tones begin - again, about every five seconds. Back off throttle to idle, tones quit, but after two to three minutes tones start sounding every five seconds. Kill engine, immediately restart, no tones.

All manuals I've seen refer to continuous or rapid tones. I've found no reference to this "slow" tone.

Any advice?

I did away with that oil tank, and mix my oil in my gas myself. :D :D
