I have a 50hp evinrude 50173s, the water comes out at a slow speed, when I go faster it gradually stops. Had it worked on last year, when there was no water coming out. Thought it just needed breaking in. any suggestions.

LongLake.... That model number indicates that the engine is a 1971 model, but that model does not have a water telltale outlet. You don't say exactly what you had done last year, but the explanation you give (if the engine is overheating), would indicate that the water pump is failing. If, last year, you simply had a impeller installed, have it redone and install a complete water pump kit.

Longlake:You should see water coming out the exhaust port, but not a peehole. (I have a 72 Evinrude 100HP with same setup - no telltale.)Take Mr Reeves' advice, redo the water pump, then fish without worrying about it!Good luck!
