Default Head Torque spec. 15 hp evinrude

What is the head torque for a 1967 evinrude 15 hp motor. I have to put in a new head gasket.

I was told the spec should be 65 to 80 in-lbs. Does this sound correct.

I can't find any '67 15hp. The closest is '56.Please post your model number. If that's a typo and you mean an 18, then it's 108in/lbs.

I do not have a model number but the serial number is 15702AC521538. It is called a Worktwin.

Ahh, a Canadian only Evinrude. No wonder I couldn't find it. PictureSorry, I have no information on that engine, but... Since it has the same displacement as the '56 15hp fastwin (19.94 CID), I would guess it's the same block & head, in which case it would still be 108 in/lbs (96-120).In '57 the bore was increased and the stroke decreased on the fasttwin, and that made it an 18hp.Of course, the above is just a guess. The only way to know would be to check the OMC service manual for this engine. The Seloc manual for the year range doesn't cover your engine. I doubt Clymers does either since it's also an American publication...
