I have a 1986 140hp evinrude.It has a primer solenoid mounted on the air silencer. It also has a red pointer(up or down) mounted on the solenoid. I've check my manual and it doesn't mention the pointer, I'm Assuming its a manual lever. What position should the pointer be going for normal operation.

okam,The pointer should face down or, pointed toward the primer solonoid body. In other words, folded back.
