Not quite sure of what youre hearing but look at a couple of things. <br /><br />Is it knocking when you back off the throttle quickly? If thats it, its called de-cell knock and is not uncommon in the 60 degree motors.<br /><br />If its more of a clicking sound put your hand on the fuel/oil pump (what you refered to as the vro) and see thats where the noise is coming from.<br /><br />If it is related to shift position only (in or out of gear) make sure the shift cable is adjusted properly.<br /><br />Good luck!
