I posted last week but still have another question.

The water pump indicator is pump slow at low RPM. Engine is not getting hot but hardly any water comes out of the exhaust hole on the back of the motor. I read in the repair manual that the exhaust is not water cooled. It this right? Should there be water coming of of the exhaust like my Johnson motor?

It should "sputter" out water from the exaust, but there isn't a steady flow of water.Just a sputter.

Re: 1996 Foce water problem

I'm not getting a sputter, more of an occasional drip. I'm planning on changing the water pump and thermostat, but I want to know if there is anything else I should be replacing while I have it apart. One other thing is there does seem to be water coming out of the lower unit right above the foot. Is this OK or do I have something else wrong. I have read about adding a temp gauge, are these hard to install?
