Hi
I have a 1959 Johnson Sea Horse (model QD20)
and wish to convert it to a pumped system.
Is it viable to drill and tap into the crankcase
to get the pulsed pressure. If so is one feed to the pump sufficient or would I need two.
As much info as possible would be appreciated as I am new to outboards.
Thanks

Re: Conversion from pressure system to pumped

I also have 1956 15 HP Johnson motor that is presurized type fuel tank motor. It is fairly reliable. I also have 1969 12 HP Viking motor (Johnson) have been converted to new fuel system. Previous owner did it. You need to buy any new fuel pump have equivalent HP (check with OMC dealer) and tap 2 mount holes on the crakecase intake cover to bolt the fuel pump. Then drill the hole in the middle between 2 bolt holes. This hose to get the pulsed pressure to your fuel pump. You need a gasket for it as well.
