What is the low idle adjustment on a 1992 Evinrude 120 V-4? The motor runs fine and everything but when I slow down to an idle the motor kills.

The idle in gear should be 650 to 750 rpm. Do not adjust it with the screw in the throttle arm. Follow you detailed instructions in the service manual.

Good luck!

Dhadley is correct. Changing the idle at the screw will mess up your "synch and link".

You may be able to bump the idle up by adjusting the barrel screw on the engine end of the throttle cable.

Check one thing. Up on top of the air box area is your throttle pickup roller. There is supposed to be a plastic bushing on that roller. It looks like a 3/4" piece of clear tubing. If its gone then your throttle is closing too far. I hav a 93 120 anf have replaced the bushing on mine 2 times.
