I have a 1985 Evinrude 30 hp with Electric start.<br />The question I have concerns the electric choke solenoid. It has red lever mounted on the front end of the solenoid, the lever turns back and forth and the engine seems to run best when this lever is centered. My question is, does anyone know what the lever is for and what it does. I can't find referance to it in the service manual and I don't have a owners manual.

Re: Evinrude Choke Solenoid

That would be your Manual choke in case the electric one went out. Should be inline with the carb for normal running.
