Evinrude 40 plug gap

According to the OMC manuals, you should have a Champion plug - one of five:

(Q)L77JC4 = .030

(Q)L16V = Gapless

L78V = ??? .030 is best guess bassed on other plugs for that motor recommended by Champion

If you have NGK's:

BUHXW-1 = Gapless

B7HS = .030

If you have something else in there, you may want to switch to one of these. I have no way of cross referencing the Autolite, but I know they tend to be a popular option as well.
