I am using a 64 evinrude sportwin 9.5 hp on a little jon boat. The motor plate says 9.5 hp at 4500 rpm. I don't think I am even close to 4500 rpm at full throtle. Is there anyway to measure rpm?
Tiny tach makes an after market tach for most any application,about $40.They have a web site. 9.5 on a little Jon should really sing. Your money and time may be better spent checking your motor.How does it run?Does it start well, idle and respond well to the throttle?
