gas leaking out of vro pump

Hello to all i picked up a 1985 150 hp evinrude with a vro pump that gas is comming out of the housing when the primer blub is pump up , can get rid of it,and use some other non vro pump instead of buying a new vro pump and mix oil with the gas as i did on my 1982 175 johnson years ago any help will be greatly appreciated

I believe you can set that motor up with the same two fuel pump set-up the older motor had. THen run premix thru it. The mounting locations for dual pumps should be there. The hole between the mounting bosses for the pump pulse should have a bolt and washer plugging them. You would have to remove the tube the VRO gets it's pulse from and put a plug in that one.
