Cowlings for John 88 interchangeable w/ John 90?

I have inherited a 1995 Johnson 88. It needs (among other things) a new engine cover or cowling. I found one for sale off of a 2001 Johnson 90. Will this fit?<br /><br />MODEL #: J88TSLEOC<br />SERIAL #: GO3848529<br />(These are for MY engine)

if it's the old 90 degree block (the spl is) then it will fit. if the '01 john is a new style narrow V block than it won't. They are much smaller and are easily distinguishable.

While on the subject of cowls, does anyone know where to get one of these high performance johnson ones with the louvers in the front for air intake? Wheaticat@aol.com 88 model 175hp
