Compatible Johnson Parts

I know it is a long shot, but I have a good powerhead from a 1976 V4 Johnson seahorse 115HP outboard. The lower leg is pretty much stuffed. I've seen a Johnson 175HP lower leg from the mid 80's advertised and was wondering whether I can simply attach this to my powerhead and cowling ? <br /><br />Thanks <br /><br />Liam

Unfortunately it will not bolt up. Look for a V4 unit from 1973 to 1976. The 1977 85 and 115 (not 140) 20" will have the same bolt pattern also.<br /><br />Good luck!

ltovey, we are in a similar boat (pun not intended). I still run a '76 85hp Johnson v4 and the fact tat tere are only 4 years of engines to get parts from is frustrating. It can be a challenge to obtain some parts it seems as most local places stock parts for most all years except these. Good luck in your search. I think I saw one on e-bay, but it looked rough. I believe Iboats has rebuilts.
