9.5 to 15 h p evinrude change over

I have a 9.5 H P evinrude in the garage belongs to a lady friend. Can any one tell me the year? and can it be changed to 15 h p by simply changeing the carb? Mod.# 9622a Ser.# e11223<br />Thanks

Hi Bill S,<br /><br />I think that your lady friend is the proud owner of a 1966 9.5hp Sportwin (as per link below).<br /><br /> http://www.marinshopen.se/guide/omc/evinguid.htm <br /><br />Nice little motor - may be a little week in the lower unit (check lower unit has no water in it) but power head is very dependable.<br /><br />Sorry to say, the conversion you mention is for the 9.9hp model. I believe that the first year for the 9.9 is 1974. Worse yet, later models of the 9.9 had modifications to exhaust etc. beyond the carb (sorry more then you asked for).<br /><br />Short version - NOPE, carb wont do it to make it a 15<br /><br />Good Luck<br />HAVE FUN!

Thanks Klondike 7, She let it freeze and broke the lower unit houseing. I think I can get one on <br />e-bay. Thanks again....Bill S.
