Saturday night I gassed up and ran the motor for 15 minutes at an idle. This morning with bait in hand I tried to start. Each time the motor would turn for about 1-2 seconds and fire but not start. Checked the plugs and they were pretty wet. Cleaned them and tried again. Same result. Left cylinders open, bought new plugs, same result. New plugs (all 6) were very wet after only 3-4 start attempts. Could simple flooding do this? Where should I begin? Whats a cure for a flooded engine? Can i leave plugs out for an extended period? Leave throttle open? Can I used compressed air to help evaporate?

If you think it is flooded, disnegage the shifter and move the throttle to full, until it clears. I would suggest a spark test, should jump about 1/2 inch gap plugs in.

how do you test gap with plugs in? From wire to head (ground) or to plug tip?

I think you have an ignition problem. What kind of meters/timing light you have?

Use a timing light to check firing connect to a cylinder, crank engine, watch light light will flash only when it fires, should be even flashes. Check each cylinder. Connect water to engine, if engine starts, just check it with engine at idle.
