I just purchased and older bass boat with a 85' Evinrude 150xp that runs decent under throttle. Problem is it dies when put in gear or just sitting in neutral... Is there some ez method for controling the idle speed like turning a set screw somewhere??? the boat is equipped with a hotfoot if that matters...

Thanks....

Check your throttle lingage first under the motor cover. There is a small adjustment that can be made there and get the slop (if any) out of the cable. You should be idling at about 700-900 rpms in gear in the water (not on water muffs).

Bob
